Last night Evan looked at his babysitter, an 11-year-old girl from the neighborhood with a sweet and somewhat rabbity smile, and said, "Wow, you sure have grown-up teeth."
Grandma Sue: "You should always use soap to wash your hands."
Evan: "Why?"
Grandma Sue: "Because soap is a surfactant. Dave told me a surfactant makes the germs slippery so that they get washed away easily when you rinse your hands."
Evan: (watching the soap suds run down the drain) "Boy, I bet those germs are really mad!"
Later --
Evan: (making an announcement while leaving the bathroom after washing his hands): "I used a surfactant!"
